I am sure that everyone would have thought that there are too many terminologies used in and around SAP. Here is an easy way to search for a term used in SAP (of course, you have google to do that job), you can use transaction STERM to search for a term (i.e. dispatcher, message server, etc.,) while you are logged on to SAP.

If there is a poor average response time for a particular user, as one of the preliminary check, it is advisable to check the ping response of end user PC from any of the relevant SAP application servers . You can do the same by logging into SAP -> ST06 - > Detail Analysis Menu - > Lan Check by Ping - > Active Presentation Servers -> Select the host -> 10x Ping

This is the easiest way to check whether there are any data loss between the end user PC and the SAP application server.

An easy step to get the list of application server attached to message server, if the list is empty, then there could be a potential problem in distributing the load.

Do you want to freeze the transport in your landscape? Here is a very simple step that can help you to freeze the export / import of a specific system / complete landscape.

Stop Exports :

Create a file named T_OFF.ALL (or) T_OFF. under \bin

Stop Imports :

 

Create a file with name NOIMPORT.ALL (or) NOIMPORT. under \bin
