SAP Server Node gets stopped with the errors related to JDBC

com.sap.engine.frame.ServiceException: Start of UME service failed. Check help topic "Start of UME Service Failed". Technical details: Cannot read configuration file: UMErole.xml: ERROR:com.sap.engine.frame.core.configuration.InvalidPersistentDataStreamException: Could not get file from DB.

[SAP_NWMss][SQLServer JDBC Driver]No more data available to read.

(Server returned: No buffer space available (maximum connections reached?): recv failed). Please ensure that the server parameters passed to the driver are correct and that the server is running. Also ensure that the maximum number of connections have not been exceeded for this server.

Possible Solutions Are :

  • Increase the SQL Server Memory (Enterprise Manager/Studio - > Server -> Properties - > Max Memory)
  • Restart SQL Instance
  • Adjust the registry entries (HKLM - > SYSTEM - > CurrentControlSet -> Services -> TcpIP – Parameters -> TcpTimedWaitDelay to 300)
  • If none of the solution mentioned above works - > Restart the server itself
  • In case of 32-bit system, activate 3GB switch and increase the sql server memory
