Interesting issue on DMS, nothing happens when a user tries to open a document from DMS

Symptom : Whenever a user tries to open a document from a DMS using CV04N transaction, the user is neither able to open the document nor get any error message.

 

CV04N - > Document Number – Execute -> Choose the Original and Display

 

 

Reason : In the DMS configuration, it is configured in such a way that when a user tries to open the document from DMS, the file to be downloaded without any extension attached to it, as a result, windows is not able to open the file as the extension is not identifiable.

 

Solution : In DC30, update the suffix field with the actual extension it should be using when the user is trying to open the document from CV04N. The suffix field is used to specify the file format for a temporary file created by the system for processing the original document stored in the DMS.
